Typical English ale, characterised by the amber colour, delicate bitterness and the full malt body. Carefully selected hops lend the beer the aroma of resin, roses, grapefruit peel, and gooseberry traces. An intense, bitter opening gradually changes after sipping, and leaves behind a drier malt flavour with notes of caramel and dried fruit. The beer experience is completed by the dark amber to garnet colour and the fine silk foam.

11.2oz bottle. $3.99 a sixpack. Filtered copper-tan body. Frothy, creamy white head. Smooth, mellow caramel aroma. Medium bodied, very bland. Straightforward English session beer I suppose, really light on the hops. Fruity undertones in the malt, but it has a Lager feel to it too. Tolerable, but not one I’d order at a bar or seek out again.

Appearance: Clear nutty brown color with a fine white head. Ok lacing (on a plastic glass).
Aroma: Malty, light fruity and mild hoppy.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet and a fine mild bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Mild sweet malty and a fine moderate balanced hop profile.
Overall impression: Tasty and fresh.

Draught @Milenka, Helsinki. Copper color with a thin white head. Aroma has caramel, bread, offensive, vegetable notes,. Very sweet taste with caramel, toffee, bread. Quite bad actually. Felt more like drinking a cheap czech lager than an ale?

Bottle from Corti Bros. Pours amber with a foamy off-white head. Smells like noble hop. Herbal more than grassy. Med body. Flavor is lightly bready in a caramel way, and the bitter turns out more grassy than not. Straight forward and reasonably tasty.

Das EPA habe ich 2013 bereits getrunken, als es noch inder genormten 0,5l-Pfanflasche abgefüllt wurde und nicht in der komischen eigenen Reliefflasche, für die man an der Kassa zwar Pfand zahlt, aber so gut wie nirgends zurüchgenommen wird. Es hat eine bersteinfarbene Farbe und einen malzigen Kern. Wirklich überzeugen kann es mich noch immer nicht, auch da die tschechischen Brauereien diesen Stil inzwischen besser zusammenbekommen.

dark golden colour, huge white head, which collapses quickly; aroma of malt and banana; taste is dominated by sweetness with some bitterness in the background; OK, OK, but it seems a bit a malty lager with a lot of sugar rather than a real english ale
