This is our Vermont Black IPA, this beer is as hoppy as it is dark. We brewed this beer with a solid malt bill including de-bittered black malt and chocolate malt. The hopping on this was intense with heavy additions of Columbus & Simcoe. We find it to be the perfect halfway point between an American IPA and a Robust Porter.

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a black color with a thin cap of a white foamy head. Quick dissipation. Barely any lace.
The aroma mixes up some heavy roasty dark chocolate to fresh piney aromatic hops. Bitter, bold and unyielding to my nose. Subtle grassy to citrusy effects as it warms
The flavor, once again, blends fully the prior mentioned aromas nicely. Subtle roasty dark chocolate aftertaste and a quick robust finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sipping quality about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt as projected.
Overall, nice black IPA, great Winter sipper. I would have again.
