Mit seinem unstillbaren Wissensdurst erhält unser Pils eine Auszeichnung nach der anderen. Bereits 1975 gab Helmar Schmid, zu jener Zeit Chef unserer Manufakturbrauerei, ihm daher den Namen Diplom Pils.
Mit insgesamt 56 internationalen und nationalen Auszeichnungen wurde diese ungewöhnliche Verleihung eines akademischen Grades bis heute mehr als gerechtfertigt. So wurde dieses besondere Pils im Jahre 2009 vom World Beer Award als World Best Pilsner zum Klassenbesten gekürt. Dank unserem konsequenten Anspruch nach Spitzenqualität folgte 2014 die Auszeichnung zum World’s Best German Pilsner und 2016 zum World’s Best German-Style Pale Lager.
Das Diplom Pils ist heute nicht nur das beliebteste Bier der Manufakturbrauerei Waldhaus – es ist ein echter Pils Klassiker.

Tap at the Markthalle in Freiburg. Brilliantly clear golden color with a tight head. Lemony, herbal hop nose. Crisp and clean, sharp hops, bitter finish, touch of warm malts. Body a bit oily but overall crisp. Hits the spot on a hot day.

Geel bier met schuim. Smaak is bitter hoppig en fruitig met iets van bosbessen. Blijft ook lang hangen. Echt genieten dit bier.

Flasche bei Rewe. Helles gelb, klar, fester Schaum. Aroma: Malz, Hopfen, Zitrus. Geschamck: Metallisch, süßlich, etwas bitter, Malz, später besser und süffiger werdend.

0.5l bottle. Clear pale yellow body with a white head. Aroma and the taste of light bready malts with hay, grassy hops and some floral notes. A classy pilsner. It lacks the harsh grainy taste lots of other beers from this style have and has a light-medium body, hence it's smooth and light. I like it.

13-08-17 // bottle at El Burro Mainz. Clear golden pilsner, crispy grainy body with a moderate bitter finish. Solid pilsner.

Sep. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle that poured a pale yellow body with medium sized head. Lemony and lightly peppery aroma. Flavor was lightly bitter, herbal and lemony which eventually turned to metallic with weaker grainy malty base behind. A bit acidic in the finish with lemon, grain and somewhat herbal like in flavor, too. Thinner in body with relatively high carbonation. Although not bad, it was quite a boring and mediocre pils, nothing thrilling like the style score here would suggest.

Thanks Natko! Shared with the Hvar crew. Pale dull yellow-golden body with a small white head. Herbal and fruity aroma. Nice light lean crackery body with solid herbal bitterness. Actually nice!

Many thanks for this beer to kevnic2008. Piwo o sredniej piance zlocistej barwie i aromacie chmielnym. Smak wytrawny lekko gryzacy i gozkawy. Slodowosc niewielka wiec dobrze odfermentowane. Porzadny Pilsner
