23 September 2019. Can from a supermarket in Agia Pelagia, Crete. Balcony tasting in Pela Mare hotel. Shared with the lovely Anke! Pours hazy black with a lasting, small, foamy, tan head. Aroma of burnt toast, walnut, tobacco, chicory, earth. Taste is light sweet & light bitter, bready-toasty over nutty accents with a whiff of tobacco, some caramel, coffee. Dry, earthy hoppy finish, lots of toast & tobacco lingering. Light to medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Not intense in taste but a pleasant surprise overall.

Sampled as Fix Dark Lager Beer Medium, reasonably stable beige head, bit irregular over jet-black beer; Immediate coffeenose, coffeesweets (koffiebonen, roasted, but sweet. Roasted nuts. Dry-roasted, near ashy flavour, sweetness from the nose all but gone (only in the very aftertaste a reminiscense of sweet malt). Warming up, potato peel. Very dry MF, light body, almost no trace of slickness. Spritzy carbonation. Wààày better than expected. It is indeed totally Schwarz tastewise, although the nose would have you believe otherwise.

0,33 l bottle from a supermarket on the island of Kos. Nearly black with reddish edges in the glass. Small fast fading head. Toasted malt smell. Some choco but also musty. Taste has roasted malt, hints of cold coffee with citrus. Low carbonated. Okay.

Bottle at Firi Firi Beer House, Corfu Town, Island of Corfu, summer of 2017. Black with a reddish tint, lasting small creamy off-white head. Roasty and nutty, dark malts. Dry and roasty. Smooth texture, light body, soft to moderate carbonation, dry finish. Surprisingly, very good.
