Tasted under the moniker Delhaize Krieken Lambic Huge cyclamen-pink head, very frothy; deep dark-red beer, totally clear. Sickly sweet cherry-gums nose, on a vague citric background. Sweet, and rather watery sweet cherry flavour, artificial if anything. Again a tad citric acid, and some vague woody impression. Light and watery, with some diluted syrup, very disappointing palate. The cork would be the most traditional item about this bottle, werenβt it for the fact that it is capped by a standard crown cork. Talk about a poor show. Earlier Rating: 1/15/2005 Total Score: 3.4Deep dark red with a faint amber shine; pink, very fine head. Spicey fruitnose, not very outspoken, syrupy in the end. Soft sweet-sour, bit citric, bit lactic. Faint sweet artificial cherry taste, but neither off-putting, neither cloying. Slight acidburn, quite dry, more fruity in the aftertaste. Not too bad in its kind, some concurrents are much worse. Just not very βtraditionalβ.

Draught
Dark red, small red head. Cherry candy nose. Light, sweet, cherry-flavoured lemonade. Good summer drink though.
Earlier Rating: 6/23/2004 Total Score: 2.1
Bottled (BB 11/2005)
Clear deep red color with big cloudy reddish head. Sour cherry aroma. Sour, acidic palate is dominating weak sweet cherry flavor. Carbonated mouthfeel and acidic aftertaste. Another Timmermans Tradition which is too sour for me.

(Bottle 25 cl) 5% ABV in my version. Medium red with a pinkish head. Very pronounced cherry flavour and not overly sweet - the lambic tartness levels things out. Unfortunately this has an artificial, chlorinated tang which thankfully fades as the beer warms. 110998

A red beer with a fine though disappearing pink head. The aroma is very powerful of marzipan, cherries, and coriander. The flavor is very sweet and very powerful marzipan, but also with hints of cherries and wood - but no acidity what so ever. It is a shame to call this for a kriek.
Earlier Rating: 8/28/2004 Total Score: 2.4
A deep red beer with a light pink head. The aroma is sweet with notes of cherries - quite artificial. The flavor is very artificial: sweet with notes of cherries, almond, marcipan, and cherry.

Strong burgundy colour with a constant head. The aroma is potently cherry, and the flavour is weakish but heavy on the cherries with a slightly bitter edge. Overall a good beer.

Bottled. Deep red with creamy head. Sweet with only a light hint of acidity. Syrupy cherry flavour. Just sweet. All complexity killed. It's not really bad, but it's very commercial, and more like a alcopop than a real kriek.

Beautiful ruby color, almost no head. Sour cherry aroma; light vinegar. Dry; a light maltiness and residual sweetness in the background; pleasant cherry and cherry kernels. Drinkable, but the cherries are a bit too much artificial (cherry syrup).
