Phi is a pale strong beer, skillfully balanced between sweet and sour due to the addition of 40% of wheat to the grain bill. Phi is part of the “Omega – Phi – Sigma” trilogy which matures in stainless steel tanks where the Morpheus yeast imparts a refreshing sourness. Phi is a good stepping stone for those who want to familiarize themselves with our Flemish Sour Ales.

Gylden brun lett tåkete med lavt beige skum. Lukter kinarestaurant, lett eddik. Lett+. Sur fruktig smak, sitron og ananas. Lettdrikkelig sour. Likte denne godt, i motsetning til mine bordkamerater. (Beaverex17)

A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with grassy hops, light mineral notes, light acidity, light cork, pleasant. In mouth, a nice tart sweet fruity malt with light grassy hops, light ground cherry, light Brett, light lactic notes, pink grapefruit pulp, nice and refreshing. Bottle at Brother’s Beer Bistro.

Bottle. Color: Bit dark golden, tiny white head. Taste: Good balanced combination between medium sweet and medium sour. Starting more to the sour side and finishing more to the sweet side. Fruity (hints of yellow fruit, apples and tiny hints of some kind of berries), tiny hints of yeast. More than average carbonation.

(Keg at Stadin Panimobaari, 20160706) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness and vineousness. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, vineousness, sweetness, honey, tartness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, tart and bitter. A bit boozy tart brew.
