Maxlrainer LEO WEISSE is the appellation distinguishing our classic pale wheat beer. This is the ultimate in fruity wheat beer taste and has continued to qualify for the DLG GOLD Award year in, year out.

LEO WEISSE with its full round taste and own inimitable character reigns supreme in Bavarian wheat beer realms, the real secret behind it lying in the brewery’s distinct method of producing top-fermented yeast. Even as the beer is being drawn, the gourmet senses the wonderful aroma it develops. Left to mature in the storage cellars, LEO WEISSE is bottled in its cloudy, unfiltered state, thus keeping the malt and yeast constituents fine and nourishing.

20/074/2012 Brasserie 4:20 (tap).

Draft at 4:20, Rome, during the Stag Do. Pours a very cloudy gold with a modest, white head. Light yeast and citrus fruits on the nose. Faint sweet flavor, light dough, faint spice. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Semi-bland finish, a touch watery, some lingering yeast. Alright overall, but definitely a bit light.

Bottle looks simple, but good. Beer in the glass very zippy, huge head. Starts fruity like apricot, yeasty, a bit wheaty. Finish mild but not washy, fruity-sourish, very drinkable. Nice!

Bottled. An unclear dark golden beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt and wheat. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, wheat, and banana, leading to a dry wheaty finish.

Bottle. A hazy, cloudy orange-golden beer with a two-finger off-white head. Banana, some porridge, hints of cloves and citrus and some piney hops on the nose. Dry, full-bodied and effervescent mouthfeel with some warmth, Fruity sweetness, cloves and bitterness flavor, with some bubblegum and citrus notes. Grainy, banana finish with a nice bitterness and some alcohol. A quite decent weissbier, but it feels like something is missing when drinking it. 090902
