500 ml from the Advent calendar. Aroma is lightly bready, lightly grassy, light citrus rind. Pours clear golden with a one finger off-white head with good retention. Taste is sweet with faint bitterness. Great creamy mouthfeel. Average helles overall.

16oz pour from a 12 Beers of Christmas pack purchased at Lidl (US). Completely translucent color with a small yellow color with a medium sized white head. Nothing super crazy about this one, white grassy notes. Some sweet malt. Moderate corn. Earthy hops. Crisp.

Sehr helle, klare Farbe. Zuerst bemerkt man den Hopfen, dann wird es getreidig, leicht strohig. Florale Noten spielen mit rein. Nur minimal fruchtig. Der Hopfen verabschiedet sich ab dem Mittelteil langsam. Leichter als die 5,2 % Alkohol erwarten lassen würden. Süffig.

Can. Pale gold with an inch + of fine white head that lasts pretty well. Gentle light biscuit aroma with some floral notes. Moderately sweet and clean enough malt but without any real richness or character before a reasonably bitter finish. Better than a lot of beer from Aldi but not terribly distinguished.

500 ml can, Advent Calendar from Costco. Clear gold, lots of carbonation, white head. Grain and grasses, cheap lager aroma. Grain, cardboard, envelope glue. Meh.

Pale gold with a foamy head of modest duration. Pretty unappealing aroma: mostly stale grains and metals. Faint cardboard. Taste is bitter, finishing metallic. Leaves you with a mouthful of aluminum foil. Medium bodied, average to above average carbonation. Shared with SWI and JPI, and glad this one was split 3 ways.

Bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours crystal clear pale gold with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh, doughy white bread, honeyed grain, cereal, biscuit, sort orchard fruits, apple, pear and even some gummy bears. The taste is crisp, dry, clean, snappy, grassy, slightly herbal, minty almost, biscuit, cereal, grain, underlying sweetness, honeyed action and muffin with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. It's fairly sweet, but works somehow. Interesting and quaffable. Fun stuff.

Bottle from Lupe Pintos. Clear golden with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of earth, straw and honey. Flavour of grain and white bread. Thin to medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Light fizz. A clean, excellent lager. Has slightly more of a sweet, malty character than I associate with the style.
