Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Appearance - copper with a proportionate, slighty off-white head. Nose - caramel, biscuits and light metallic note. Taste - caramel and shortbread biscuit. Palate - close to medium bodied, sweet middle, roasty finish. Overall - more of a Bitter than a Pale Ale. Decent.

[50cl bottle from a Bargain Booze in Milton, Staffs.] An attractive bright copper coloured pour with a finger of cream head; aroma of raisins and oranges; smooth, thick and creamy in the mouth, with sweet berry fruits; then a satisfying malty finish with a touch of caramel cut through with some earthy licorice. This is pretty good stuff for Wychwood.

500ml bottle BBE Aug-21. Pours clear copper, one finger of head, nice retention; good Aroma of caramel malts, mild but nice fruity and floral hop; ok Taste has a nice malty note but also boiled veg and starchy rice (poor), a nice but non-descript fruity hop, moderate bitterness and then astringent dryness (a touch too much), a nice level of sweetness though, a hint of raisin (nice); a mixed bag. Body and carbonation is good though. Another mixed offering from Wychwood. Some of these traditional English commercial breweries need to up their game. Boiled veg, again, I mean really?
