Sampled at THT June. Murky dark brown with tan head. Dry coffee, fresh coffee beans, raw cocoa, soft malts, light vegetables. Not really much whisky. Medium sweet and bitter. Bit over medium bitter. OK.

Malziger Beginn, etwas Schokolade, viel Espresso. Cremig, weich bitter, vollmundig, Geringe Süße, wenig steigend röstig, langer Nachgeschmack. Keine Torfnoten. 8/11/12/11/8/12

12oz bottle at De Bierkonig, pours a opaque black with plenty of frothy, cream colored head. Nose is raw... raw coffee bean, raw cocoa pod, raw vanilla, licorice and malt too, dark fruits. Flavor is chewy with grain and caramel, cocoa powder, vanilla, malt soda, coffee soda. Finishes fairly dry. If this is aged in peated whiskey barrels, good on ya. Super smooth. No real peat, very light on the booze.

Gedronken tijdens Bierfestival in Den Bosch.

Bottle. Color: Black, dense stable beige head. Aroma: Coffee, peat, whiskey. Taste: Moderate sweet roasted malt, notes of coffee and peated whiskey, hints of nuts. Dry mouthfeel. Medium body, soft carbonation. Pretty smooth. Easy drinkable but at the same time missing some excitement. Could use more body. The BA works out well without being overwhelming. Decent imperial porter.
