Aurum is het vloeibare goud dat in onze ketel ontstond toen onze Amerikaanse vrienden van Separatist bij ons op bezoek waren. Als rusteloze alchemisten versmolten we de elementen van hun brouwerij met die van ons, op zoek naar het hoogst haalbare, het zenit. Separatist bracht guldenroede en heilige basilicum uit de Nieuwe Wereld, wij namen ze mee naar een geheim veld vol gouden bloemen. Inspiratie borrelde, creativiteit stroomde, er kwam een bier tot stand dat niemand ooit eerder heeft gezien. Edel van kleur, nobel van smaak, de belichaming van verbinding.
Paardenbloem en guldenroede, twee prachtig gele bloemen, zijn het middelpunt van dit bier. De zoete geur van bloemennectar vlijt zich op zacht zure toetsen en een verrassend licht houtkarakter. Het romige mondgevoel vormt een mooi tegenwicht voor de frisse, landelijke smaken van hooi en drogend gras. Ver op de achtergrond laat de basilicum zich proeven. Het bier eindigt in milde bitters van de paardenbloem, die lang blijven hangen. Een zonnig bier waar je blij van wordt. Aurum heeft tien maanden op eikenhout gerijpt.

ABV: 6.1%. Clear medium orange colour with a average to small, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, moderate hoppy, fruity hops, apricot, plum, flowers - herbs. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, sweet malt, pale malt, fruity malt, fruity, plums, flowers - herbs. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Sample at tasting session Nevel @de Bierkoning (8/2/20) thanks Mathias. Hazy pale golden, small frothy white head. Aroma brett, lemon peel, floral, aromatic herbs, bit honey, woody notes. Taste medium sour and light sweetbitter, tart, lemon peel, woody brett notes. Medium body watery texture, soft carbonation, aftertaste as in taste, citrus peel somewhat stronger, another good one.

On tap @Luppolo Station in Rome. Pours a cloudy yellow/orange color with a stable medium white foam. Nose: fresh herbs going a bit peppermint. Some Brett. Mouth is clean with a mild Brett overall and a perfect drinkability. Good.

Tap. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Pale gold. Light haze. No head to speak of. Nose has light, woody funk. Preserved lemon. Clean brett. Taste is a little tart and woody bitter. Light to medium body. Low carbonation. Lemony, woody brett to finish.

On tap at Taphuys Arnhem. A hazy yellow golden beer with a white head. Aroma of tart yellow fruits, grapes, brett, apple skin. Taste of tart grapes and apples, brett and yeast.
