Inspired by the Finnish brew known as Sahti, this is a variation of this ancient beverage. Brewed with Mecca Grade Vanor and rye malts, aged Cascade Hops from Goschie Farms, and our own yeast culture and house sour wort, Sahati gets resin and citrus notes from spruce branches harvested on the brewery property.

Draught at Arrogant Sour 2019.
Red, medium hazy body, with almost no head.
Aroma of spruce, eucalyptus, wood, citrus, some almond, some honey.
Tastes similar, with subtle alcohol.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes spicy, wooden, minty, a bit vinous, slightly warm, a bit sweet, with spruce, eucalyptus.

Very nice. Interesting, fresh character from the spruce, with the alcohol completely hidden. A bit less special as expected maybe, while really unique and characterful stuff. Score: 7 / 4 / 7 / 4 / 15

750ml bottle. Spicy, herbal and slightly tart with some juniper, spruces, pine and hints of woody berries. Interesting, quite refreshing and funky. Pretty nice foresty sour ale, but a Sahti? Not even close.

750ml bottle. Hazy, reddish, amber colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Tart-ish, tangy, spicy, fruity, vinous, woody, resinous and funky aroma, notes of grapes, spruce, a touch of mustard seed. Taste is tart, tangy, fruity, vinous, woody, funky, notes of grapes, red berries, spruce, raspberry vinegar, herbal-floral overtones; lingering finish With slightly bitter hoppy addendum and very late a warming touch of alcohol. Watery texture, smooth, soft and silky palate, gentle carbonation. Complex, harmonious, sophisticated.
