On tap at Toms Tap, Crewe. Pours pale straw with virtually no head (just a few bubbles) and low carbonation. The aroma is mainly alcohol with traces of apple peel and yeast. In the mouth there is a brief slight sweetness before it becomes increasingly sharp leading to a pretty dry finish. Flavour has sharp crab apples, tannins and hints of lemon. This is decent – very enjoyable as long as you take it slowly !

Bottle from Hop Vault, Stourbridge, online. Clear gold with a brief fizzy head, leaves a few bubbles. Aroma of apple juice, apple skins, yeast, cream, vanilla. Taste is sweet, mild sharpness, nice smoothness and carbonation, dry finish. Well balanced. Very enjoyable.

Keg at the Deya taproom, Cheltenham, 02/08/24. Clear golden, carbonation well evident, with a good sized white cap for a cider that thins to the edge. Nose is apple pulp, hedgerow, straw, barnyard nip. Taste comprises crisp apples, caramel, light sugar dusting, tannins, modest acidity. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, drying close. Decent refreshing cider.

Keg at Kilder, Brum. Pours light hazed gold with translucent bubbles. Aroma: tangy apple. Taste: dray, bittersweet apple, apple flesh, some tannins, light to moderate acidity. Medium body with low carbonation.
