This luscious black ale has been aged more than 10 months in unique whisky casks that held very special NZ single malt whisky for more than 20 years. The casks have a great story to tell and amazing flavours to contribute to the beer.

Bottle at birthday tasting. Black with beige head. Roasted with coffee, oak, a bit of booze. Some light caramel, dark chocolate and liquorice. Classic imperial stout, well executed.

Bottle from Beerdome. Black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, coffee, wood and whisky. Flavor is very sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish with lots of warming alcohol. Oily. 030124

Flaske fra Beerdome. Sort med et beige/brunt skum. Aromaen er meget kaffe præget, fad og en smule chokolade. Den er sød og lidt tør finnish.

0,5l bottle (n˚1703 from 4350, bottled 2018, BBF: 2029) from Kaffee Bazaar webshop. F: medium, dark tanned, average retention. C: black, opaque. A: rich malty, dark fruits, plums, chocolate, dark caramel, toffee, bit red wine, whisky touch, woody, vanilla, complex. T: full malty base, a lot of chocolate, coffee, dark dried fruits, toffee, woody, spicy touch, whisky, soft carbonation, nice balanced harmonic bitterness, very nice complex taste, fully enjoyed as I expected.

Bottle @ Cafe Albert Tasting. Vintage 2002 Bottle 448 of 3636. Pours black with a creamy brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, dried fruit,, wood, oak, light vanilla, whisky. Flavor is sweet, roasted malty, caramel, wood, oak, vanilla, dried fruit, whisky. Medium to full body, average carbonation, sweet finish with warming alcohol. Tasted with vintages 2018 and 2019, 2020 while all tree had similar tasting profiler 2020 turned out slightly on top. 2018 = 5, 7, 8, 3, 16. 2019 Bottle 2279 of 3762 = 5, 8, 8, 4, 17. 300722

Bottle pour @ Pien, Helsinki. 2019 vintage. A bit thin bodied, quite heavy with licorice notes, some roastiness, oak and vanilla. Okay.

Bottle. Black color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, oak, coffee-ish. Taste is chocolate, vanilla, wood, caramel, mild booze, nice bitterness, good balance. Very nice!

Bottle shared. Black. Sweet malts, bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, boozy. Quite sweet, also quite boozy. Good.

Bottle shared at tasting. Opaque jet black color, small light brown color. Aroma and flavor are malts, roast, liquor, bitterness, rather dry. Quite good though. Very nice.

GABS Auckland 2018. Pours black. Whisky, chocolate, toast, biscuit, lots of vanilla oak stuff, bit of dried dark fruit. Good body. Nice.
