(On tap) Dark brown with red hints and a good tan head. Aroma of toast, roast grains. Medium body with fine smooth carbonation. Dark toffee, hint of prunes, some bitterness in finish. Very pleasant.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black. Chocolate, toast, coffee grounds, pepper, star anise, quite floral, nice fruity finish. Medium body. Good.

On tap at the Gertrude Hotel, pours a reddish dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out earthy rye upfront, followed by cocoa and toasted malt. Flavour is mellow, with earthy notes, toasted malt and a pronounced astringency on the finish. Not overly interesting. It's decent.
