On tap at the brewery. Dark reddish brown, minimal head. Aroma is intense wine, wine barrel, some alcohol, nuts, dried fruit, cherry brandy. Flavour is tart cherry brandy, wallnut, salty, dark bread, stale bread. Slightly boozy. Wine-like tartness. Tannins. Dry finish, lingering, strong. Very meaty. Interesting.

Tap at Kaapse 5th anniversary. Black with a few bubbles. Roasted malts, earthy notes, dead leaves, sour red currants, ash, softball alcohol, dry plum skins. Medium sour, under medium bitter and light sweet. Solid medium bodied. Nice to try, but I could never finish a bottle.
