Norwegian Forest Blend - Collaboration with Oud Beersel
Once again we are collabing with our good friends at Oud Beersel, this time we wanted to bring some of the Norwegian nature into the beer. Norway is full of fjords and forests, Skogen meaning forest what a better way to do this than to add some fresh Spruce shoots to a farmhouse ale and we have blended it to Young Lambic from Gert, we then aged the whole beer on red Zinfindel barrels for 6 months.
Ingredients: water, barley malt, wheat, oats, rye, hops, spruce shoots, yeast.

Shared can at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy amber with off-white head. Aroma of medicine, citrus, bread, malt, pine. Tastes slightly sour with some bitterness. Medium bodied, alcoholic warmth. Interesting beer.

04.05.2019, 0,33l can sampled @ Oud Beersel during Toer de Geuze:
Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head, slightly hazy. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish fruity, old citrus peel, brett, oak, bark, fruit stones, grape peel, old rope, dried fruits, wet grass, pine needles. Taste is slightly harsh citrusy, weeds, brett, harsh citrus peel, soda powder, oak, bark, wet grass, pine needles, soap, fruit stones, sour grapes. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh citrusy mouthfeel. Fair enough, kind of weird.

Hazy dark orange colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have a sweet fruity overtone like passion fruit. Sourish finish. Quite gassy.
