The Statement is our balaton cherry mead – made with the highest quality Traverse City balaton cherries, carefully selected honey and twenty years of experience – having gone through more than a dozen iterations. Living up to it’s name, this mead truly makes a statement due to its incredible expression and depth of flavor and character rendered from honey and Michigan tart cherries. A natural complement to chocolate and sharp or blue cheeses, The Statement also pairs well with grilled pork, and makes a terrific reduction sauce for desserts.

Thanks Gregg for sharing the bottle! Poured into a taster showing translucent deep rose red. The nose shows pronounced forward notes of cherry pie - baking spices and sweet maraschino cherries. The palate is full bodied with a mild alcoholic burn. Moderate but balanced cherries throughout with light accents of honey.

A deep dark burgundy red mead with aroma of dark raspberry jam, light acidity, alcohol warmth, vanilla and honey, beautiful. In mouth, a sweet raspberry jam with intense alcohol warmth, vanilla, light tobacco, beautiful and complex. Bottle at meadery.

Inky purple color. Massively deep cherries character witha touch of tartness and sweetness. Sweet, with tons of cherries, A touch of honey, but so well balanced. Good and interesting but not mind blowing.

On tap at Kalamazoo Beer Exchange. Pours a deep red brown. Full sweet cherry honey aroma. Flavor is bold, sweet, full-bodied red cherry, honey, and red and black licorice. This is just amazing.

Bottle care of LKS. It pours it deep ruby red with no head. The aroma is rich, sweet, oily, deep ripe cherrry, cherry pie, bakewell, vanilla, toasted almond, oily, cake and booze. The taste is slick, oily, tangy, juicy, slick, honey, ripe cherrry, juicy tangy, fruit pie, slight warmth and juicy finish filth on the finish, medium - full body and slick finish. Well rounded and flavoursome. A great mead.

Bottle at Craigs Edinburgh. Clear deep red colour no head. red fruit cherry aroma. Cherry fruit is lovely. Really good. Could drink a whole bottle of this. Like the sweetness of Christmas. Delicious.
