Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is cocoa, roasted malt, cinnamon, caramel, wood, subtle green chili, and powdery chocolate. Flavour is medium sweet with a moderate to medium roasty bitterness. Body is medium. I don't get much chipotle burn besides some spicy green chili, hotness is minimal. Oak and cinnamon are pronounced, could have used a more robust body. That being said, there's plenty to be enjoyed here.

Bottled@Molotov, Helsinki. Black colour, small head. Aroma is coffee, chocolated, roasted malts and some caramel. Flavour is vanilla, chocolate, cocoa, coffee and caramel along with some alcohol. Nicely balanced, and quite a bodied one.

Smell-weak to medium, roast, malt, burned caramel, coffee remains. Foam-thin to medium, roast, acidic notes, bitterness and even more roast. Head is large, dark brown color.Sticks. Appearance- generic red bottle cap, somewhat like the label. Very dark brown color, but basically black, with few carbonation bubbles. From - stout glass Price- 4.49 euros for 0.330 ml Taste- roasty, then malt and more roast and bitter tones. The aftertaste is even more toastiness and bitter tones. Maybe hints of dark bitter chocolate. Too roasty/dark chocolate for me.

Imperial stout flavoured with cinnamon, cocoa, vanilla and dried chili peppers, by the still very productive Flying Dutchman. Thick and moussy, pale greyish beige, papery lacing, stable head over a jet black beer. Aroma of fondant chocolate, wet leather, toasted walnuts, cinnamon, some old vanilla beans but not quite as expressive as I was hoping for, kahlua, burnt wood, caramel candy, cold coffee grounds. Sweet onset, dried fig and raisins soaked in rum, sourish edge, softish carb, full and oily mouthfeel as can be expected from the style – though perhaps a bit more thin than average. Thick nutty and caramelly maltiness, chocolatey, blending very well with the added cocoa nibs actually; vanilla bean again remains fairly subtle, cinnamon is a bit more powerful but in a kind of ‘raw’ way; peppery hop bitterness in the finish blends not only with roasty bitterness but also with a warming, hot dried chili pepper effect and an afterglow of rum-like alcohol. Imperial stout the sweet, flavoured, trendy way, well-executed and among the better Flying Dutchmans so far for me, but as usual with this brewer I am left with the feeling that there was probably more potential to it.
