Purple Haze® is a lager brewed with real raspberries added after filtration. It is brewed with pilsner and wheat malts and Vanguard hops. The berries add a fruity aroma, tartly sweet taste and a subtle purple color and haze...you may see fruit pulp in the beer. This beer is best served with salads or light fruit desserts, such as soufflés or chiffon cakes. Many people enjoy it with chocolate desserts. Purple Haze® pairs well with certain cheeses, such as ripened Brie or any dessert made with mascarpone. It’s also great paired with entrees prepared with fruit, especially citrus. Consider enjoying Purple Haze® alone at the end of your meal as dessert.

Enjoyed from the bottle at my neighbors place while watching some hockey. I’ve had this before, and it’s a decent brew, but in terms of other fruit beers I’ve had its not very good. I happen to like it from time to time, but I typically wouldn’t seek it out.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours amber with a white head. Dusty malt aromas. Taste is biscuit malt and caramel. Sweet. No fruit presence. Not great.

12 fl.oz. can. Hazy golden in the glass with a malty nose. No hints of raspberries yet. The beer starts smooth, malty and slightly fruity. Raspberries not really. In the mainpart there is a it more raspberry-fruitiness, with smooth yeast and only slightly bitterness. The aftertaste is smooth, hints of raspberries together with smooth yeast.

12 ounce bottle. Cloudy amber color topped by a small beige head. Fruity malt aroma. Notes of raspberry and tangerine. Tart fizzy light wheat malt flavor. More like a shandy than a beer. Raspberry flavor dominates. Little body or overall flavor.

Orangegelbes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch fruchtig, leicht nach Himbeere, Melone, Geschmack sehr fruchtig nach Himbeere, etwas künstlich süß.

Draft. A- Raspberry, mixed berries, wheat. A- Copper color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Raspberries, mixed berries, wheat, slight sourness, medium sweetness. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, sweet tart finish. O- A little bit of a let down. Wasn’t as balanced as I thought. The raspberries were a little too much.

Can at Stouts NYC - for the state tick (in writing), 23/11/13. Hazed dark amber with light reddish hues and a thin off white pond/edgework. Nose is raspeberry forward, sugars, caramel, malty, straw. Taste comprises sweet raspeberry syrup, lightly toasted malts, wheat, sugars. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp finish. Refreshing for what it is I guess - BBQ summer beer perhaps but one would be enough - sweet sweet sweet !

On tap at Yard House Houston. It’s an unclear golden beer with a small, off-white head. The aroma is quite boring, with a certain fruity, berry-ish domination. Some malty hints. The flavor pretty much the same, fruits and berries dominates, leaving little room for the malts and hops. Medium buddy, a bit heavy on the carbonation. Fruity finish. Definitely not my kind of fruit beer, even though it’s not foul on any way. 131114
