Jopen Mooie Nel is een IPA met veel Amerikaanse hop die zorgt voor bitterheid met veel fruitige tonen.
IPA werd in de tijd van lange zeereizen extra zwaar gebrouwen en extra gehopt zodat het in de koloniën gedronken kon worden. Ook in Nederland hadden we onze versie van de IPA oftewel ‘duraebel scheepsbier’ voor Nederlands-Oost-Indië. Via de Amerikaanse Craft Beer Revolution is de IPA teruggekeerd in Europa.

Bottle with KMD. Orange amber with a solid head. Aroma of of citrus hop. Flavour of orange caramel, tropical, pine, light spice finish.

Draught at De Wilde Hollander, small stable creamy head, cloudy deepish orange color, aroma of pomello amd basil, flavor of basil flowers and grapefruit, mellow medium bitterness, medium bodied, long citrusy aftertaste with lots of herbs. Excellent IPA.

330ml bottle as Northsea IPA. Hazy orange colour with a dense three-finger creamy white head. Aroma: hoppy, citrus, tropical fruit, pine, caramel or some other malt, some spicy/herby notes. Taste: matches the aroma exactly. Fairly light body, moderate carbonation, bittersweet taste with a long bitter finish. Fantastic IPA.

Caña en Cimmeria 10..06..2016. (r227). Denominada como jopen northsea ipa. Color dorado con espuma blanca. Sabores maltosos ligeramente afrutados con buenas dosis de herbaceos y resinosos secos de pinos juniperos y enebros. Buena y refrescante.

Keg @ Victorian Craft Beer Café, Halifax as North Sea IPA. Amber and hoppy with a fair dryness, but also a good fruitiness.

On tap at Foresters Hall, pours a cloudy dark orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out dank herbal hops, some earthy notes and biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with earthy hops, some spiciness and biscuity malt. Not sure if the freshness is the issue or if it's just not a good recipe - very earthy and rye-like. Not bad, but not very exciting.
