The Saison Dupont is a top fermentation beer with refermentation in the bottle.
Since 1844, this beer has been brewed in our farm-brewery, during the winter time.
Then this beer became a second refermentation in the barrel.
During the next summer, this very thirst-quenching beer was served to the “saisoniers” which were working on the fields.
Surely therefore, our Saison Dupont is considered as “the classic” among the Belgian season beers!
Coppery blond, the finest aromas and a strong bitterness transform this beer into a thirst-quenchener with no equal, just the way it was created.
Our selection of yeasts is the perfect base for these typical aromas and ditto taste.
A real refermentation in the bottle, which will continue for a long time in your cellar, result into this complex and particular aromatic beer.

Bottle at The Globe. Hazy orange-amber pour. Big saison-y yeasty aroma with some citrus hops. Taste follows - yeast, saison, pepper, orange peel. Crisp bitter finish. Smooth bubbly palate. Really nice saison - not my favorite style but a great example. 3 years later and this is a go to for food pairing with roasted fall/winter western food. Really the best straight up the middle example of a saison - very crisp, not toooo farmy.

Slightly hazy, yellow. Small, airy white head. Malty aroma with yeasty and horse. Flavour has lemon peel bitterness and earthy notes. Some sweetness but otherwise pretty dry with good barnyard finish.

330ml bottle. Pours clear and golden with a thick, foamy head. Aroma is citrus with a hint of yeast, and taste is sour fruit with a very dry fijish

On tap @ Henrik, Bergen. Pours slightly hazy yellow with a finger thick creamy head. Aroma is spicy Belgian yeast, with berries and wood, as well as nice malts with bread. Full body with soft carbonation. Flavour is tart with Belgian yeast, wooden barrels, and malts with grain. Lingering tart yeasty finish. Splendid!

Gulbrun tåkete med høyt kremete hvitt skum. Gjær, gress, epler og sitruslukt. Syrlig, mot sur smak som forsvinner fort. Litt bitter i ettersmaken. Tørr.

Lively, slightly hazy golden beer with a thick, frothy head. Hefty, grassy-fruit aroma. Lots going on in the flavour. Very hoppy, heavy citrus, airy, floral, slight fruity sourness to it. Backtaste is nice but if it was much stronger it’d be borderline sickly. I’m not sure I could drink a lot of it but it’s very nice.

Pour a clear gold with a finger of white head. Nose of Belgian yeast and hay malts. Tastes of a little bitterness, hay malts. What’s going on here? Is it just me or is this beer not as great as the rating? You Belgians, what the word on this beer in Belgium?

Keg. Pours clear and golden, a white half-finger head, plenty of carbonation. Spicy fruity aromas, with a hint of zest. A bit fizzy in the mouth, slightly sour, some sweet fruits also, malts come through at the end. Nice.

Had this many times while in Belgium but somehow missed rating/reviewing it. I purposely had a sample at the 2014 Brugge beer festival to write about: these are the notes reformulated. Slight haze to the golden yellow pour, huge white foaming crown on top. A yeasty earthiness to both the aroma and taste, sour fruits and spice notes throughout the tasting (as usual): this is a joy to drink, so full of different flavours and character. A true classic.
