The Saison Dupont is a top fermentation beer with refermentation in the bottle.
Since 1844, this beer has been brewed in our farm-brewery, during the winter time.
Then this beer became a second refermentation in the barrel.
During the next summer, this very thirst-quenching beer was served to the “saisoniers” which were working on the fields.
Surely therefore, our Saison Dupont is considered as “the classic” among the Belgian season beers!
Coppery blond, the finest aromas and a strong bitterness transform this beer into a thirst-quenchener with no equal, just the way it was created.
Our selection of yeasts is the perfect base for these typical aromas and ditto taste.
A real refermentation in the bottle, which will continue for a long time in your cellar, result into this complex and particular aromatic beer.

330 ml bottle. Hazy honey gold color topped by a big rocky white head. Fresh lemon citrus, yeasty malt aroma. Wonderful tangy wheat-like malt flavor has the slightest barnyard funkiness. Very refreshing and flavorful. Notes of hay, tangerine, coriander and mustard seed. Pleasantly balanced with spicy, pink peppercorn hops in the finish. This a world classic and a must have for saison lovers.

Had this many times before in a pre RB life...From 33 cl bottle. Golden blonde color, lightly hazy. White head with a thin layer retention. Aroma’s of citrus, straw/hay, bitter hops, yeast, caramel. Flavor is moderate bitter with a moderate sweet backbone. Light to medium bodied. Finishes with a delicate bitterness. Not sure that it’s still as good as in the old days, but still way better than so many other modern day saisons (no brett!).

Bottle at home, from Beermerchants.com, took me a while to catch up with this old friend 01/01/14. Hazed golden orange with a good sized off white head that retains well. Nose is lemon rind, hay, grassy bitter tones, apple skins Taste comprises sharp citric tones, hay, spice, barnyard, lemon rind. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, quite a dry closure. Decent saison, crisp and cleansing, the kind of blueprint beer that makes you think why the bollocks am I paying £$£ for pricey saisons from other brewers that just don’t deliver like Dupont’s does!

"Saison Dupont", diiverse Flaschen, zuletzt 18.12 2013. - Leicht kellerig-modrige Note, das unverkennbare Markenzeichen aller Dupont-Biere. Stark hefig-fruchtig und malzig. Knackig scharf gehopft mit fruchtigen Hopfenaromen (Zitrusfrüchte, Kräuter, Pfeffer). Kandissüß in der Mitte. Trockener Abgang; langer, sehr bitterer Nachtrunk. Von enormer Geschmacksfülle und dabei perfekt ausgewogen. - Anfangs gewöhnungsbedürftig, später einfach großartig.
