The Saison Dupont is a top fermentation beer with refermentation in the bottle.
Since 1844, this beer has been brewed in our farm-brewery, during the winter time.
Then this beer became a second refermentation in the barrel.
During the next summer, this very thirst-quenching beer was served to the “saisoniers” which were working on the fields.
Surely therefore, our Saison Dupont is considered as “the classic” among the Belgian season beers!
Coppery blond, the finest aromas and a strong bitterness transform this beer into a thirst-quenchener with no equal, just the way it was created.
Our selection of yeasts is the perfect base for these typical aromas and ditto taste.
A real refermentation in the bottle, which will continue for a long time in your cellar, result into this complex and particular aromatic beer.

Finally got to rate this classic. Had it before and in better shape I guess. A bottle shared at Goblet Beer Store, Zagreb. Hazy golden, lasting off-white head. Plastic and spicy phenolic aroma, yeasty doughy, some fruit: banana, lemon, coriander, sourdough. Soft grainy flavour, fruity, dusty, yeasty, funky. Light to medium body, soft carbonation, light finish.

Adding in my 300 Beers To Try ticks because I want to see how they impact my stats and some of them I will never see again. Will however re-rate them when practical. Whole Foods, Piccadilly. I need to buy some more of this, at the time it was a new style and didn't do it for me.

As Dupont Vieille Provision. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, a lot of tiny yeast particles show that it is unfiltered, tall frothy white head, good retention, light lacing. Aroma at first light sourish touch, after a while light sweet, sweet malt, yeast, diacetyl. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, hop, bit earthy feel, soft mouthfeel, creamy texture. Semi-dry sweetbitter aftertaste, a mild beer, well-balanced, good example of a classic saison, excellent.

Keg at Alkurat, Stockholm. Classic saison aroma. Lemon. Civilized classic belgian saison. (3/1/20) ---- Bottle from Belgian beershop. A good two to three years old. Soft milky aroma with light flora and fruits. Bubbly gold and lots of sediment. Extremely fresh and a masterly blend of belgian strong ale flavours, light farmhosue...very unsaisony in many ways. Very sophisticated. Some raspberry ending. 3.4 to 3.7. (2/3/20) --- Bottle from Systembolaget (I think). A classy saison that grows on you the more you drink it. 3.7 to 3.9.

Cannot believe I have never rated this! 750ml bottle pours a clear orange with plenty of frothy, white head. Nose has yeast, candy, perfume. Flavor has candy, lemon, orange peel, green grape, yeast, perfume. Classic. Crisp finish.
