Brewed with a blend of wild yeast & bacteria and our house saison strain. Aged for year in three different types of oak barrels before being blended to taste. This sour, red beer gets its wine-like fruitiness from oloroso sherry barrels, it's spicyness from akvavit barrels and light vanilla flavors from american bourbon barrels. Floridus' long aging and slow souring process adds heaps of complexity and produces a great beer, to be enjoyed in the good company of friends.

750ml bottle. Shared by Adam, thanks. Poured light red in color, almost flat. Vinegary and berryish with tartness and wood. Vinegary, tough one to drink.

(Keg at SOPP Helsinki 2020) The beer poured brown and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had berries, wood, tartness and vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were berries, tartness, wood, vanilla, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was tart, woody and bitter. A nice tart brew with complex notes of wood.

Tap @ SOPP Hki 2019. Smell of oak, vanilla, red wine. Hazy brown colour, beige head. Aroma of red wine, vanilla, some malt and nuts. Perhaps some yeast. Medium sour. Soft carbon. Smooth palate. Not sure what to think about this...

Draught @ SOPP 2019. Sourish, funky and oaky with some sherry, bourbon, wood, cherries, vinegar and toffee. Quite a lot of everything here, but manages to be quite balanced. Interesting. --- Beer merged from original tick of Floridus Oak Barrel Aged Flanders Red on 24 Jul 2019 at 16:59 - Score: 7
