0,5 l bottle with a pleasant gold/brown label. Dark bright red brown in the glass, mighty light tanned head. Little bit toasted malt on the nose. Taste starts more malty, followed by an alcoholic sequence with a low bitterness. More an easy to drink bock.

German Bock classic style, with a thick, yellowish white, moussy, quite stable head and clear and deep, but fully transparent, ’autumny’ bronze burgundy colour. Aroma of gingerbread, lots of cookie dough, lots of home made caramel, toasted bread, candied dates, cocoa, dried leaves, artisanal honey sweetness, liquorice, roasted chestnuts; very typical Bock aroma, without any disturbing elements. Taste is a rounded, dried but sweet fruitiness at first, raisins and almonds, chocolatey sweetness too, caramelly and nutty malts, soft, slick and somewhat resinous mouthfeel with soft carbo, leading to a malty, sweetish finish in which a hint of spicy hops appears to render some balancing bitterishness, quite noble actually. In all: stereotypical but well-crafted, balanced, very malty example of a style I usually don’t like too much - but I had worse than this, even from Germany. Not unpleasant and a good introduction to the style.

8/11/9/11/9/11
