“This is a full-bodied American style double IPA brewed with five styles of malts and four different hops. This deep copper colored ale will be served unfiltered to maximize flavor and also dry hopped during the secondary fermentation to ensure a gracious hop aroma. Cheers from us to you and may you enjoy it with friends.

Deanie Davis… What can I say? I like the way you’re put together. Whadda say we go out on a date, have some chicken, maybe some sex. Ya know? See what happens... now onto the bottle: Bright golden pour, great clarity, thick creamy white head, and sticky lacing throughout. Citrus and tropical fruit aroma, mild resin. Solid hop flavors; citrus, tropical fruit, and pine. Mild caramel malt. Creamy mouthfeel. Well-built overall. At 9% and allegedly 90 IBUs this is drinkable all day long. Thanks to JStax for sending this my way!

Bright clear amber beer, good white head. Palate is smooth and slightly dry. Light fine carbonation. Light smooth malt. Bitter resinous hops that do not have much fruit other than a touch of marmalade. Finishes smooth with a long bitter linger. Needs more hop fruits for a US DIPA.

Bottle. Poured a pretty clear amber color with a medium sized, white head. Aroma was notes of citrus hops, dankness, and some nice malt notes. Touch of fruit in there too. Flavor was bitter hops, resin notes, some tropical fruit characteristics with a nice malt backing. Alcohol is there, but more masked than I expected it would be.

Rerated with a bottle pour to a shaker. Original rating was a draft sample in a snifter I rated lower, but afterwards I realized that it was a poor draft: too much CO2 made it fizzy. Anyway, I liked the bold malt followed by a medium bodied, medium hoppiness.

Bottle. Pours a nice orange with a medium frothy head, but that’s where the positives end. Hops in the aroma are skunky... think eurolager, and flavor has more of the same. I wish I could say something other than that, but if you decided to make a Becks-style Double IPA, this is what you would come up with. Most of the beer ended up in my drain.
