An aptly named beer for the times we're currently living in - the country is going through some dark times at the moment, so we're going to plough on brewing the best beer we possibly can to bring a little bit of light. Cause & Effect is team Polly's doing exactly what we know how to do best - hazy, juicy IPA, with a characteristic Polly's bite for good measure. A healthy dry hop bill of El Dorado and Mosaic harkens back to a combination we've visited countless times and is always a surefire winner, Cause & Effect bursts with super ripe tangerine, mango and pine notes, playing perfectly off the pear, watermelon and stone fruit flavours brought to the table by El Dorado. Hops, haze, juice, no substitutes!

44 cl can @ Hirvihuhta. Rated on 28.2.2021 Aroma has sweet malt, some resim and citrusy hops. Flavour has resiny hops, herbs, some sweet malt and citrus. Finishes with harsh bitterness. A bit of a disappointment.

@home poured into a pint glass. Cloudy straw yellow colour, tall moussy white head, diminishing slowly, fair lacing. Aroma pale malt, tangerine, lychee, overripe pear, bit yeasty. Mild taste, fruity, light to medium sweet and bitter, malty, orange, tangerine, light spicy notes. Light to medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, short fruity aftertaste, easy to drink, nice.

Can at home. Hazy yellow color, white head. Aroma is lightly malts, citrusy. Flavor is lightly malty, hugely hoppy, citrusy a little less, more fruity hoppy, maybe slightly sweetish and slightly bitter. Quite pleasant. I like this one. Not great, but very much decent to good.

Can from This Is Beer. Appearance - cloudy orange, off white head. Nose - overripe, perfumed peach going into passionfruit. Almost more exotic fruit like lychee. Taste - apricot, canned pear and orange. Palate - creamy in texture. Light to medium bodied. Gentle taper of bitterness. Overall - lovely stuff.
