Bottle at Gollem in Antwerp. Another decadent Omnipollo pastry stout with an unreasonably lengthy list of desserty ingredients (or flavourings) if the label is to be believed... Very thick and creamy, regularly shaped, stable, brownish-tinged pale beige head, ink black robe. Aroma of hazelnut paste, milk chocolate or indeed chocolate ganache but not so much white chocolate, maple syrup, espresso, burnt toast, nutmeg, dry tree leaves, chestnuts, mocha ice cream, tea, butter, candied dates, whisky, vanilla, salted caramel. Sweet onset, dense candied fruit (dates) with a very light sourish touch, softish carbo, thick oily mouthfeel. Nutty and caramelly maltiness with a vague salty edge somewhere, fitting in well; ends toasty bitterish with maple syrup and chocolate notes, sweet and even cloying a bit, spicy notes, long warming booziness, liqueurish. Sweet, thick pastry stout as expected, but not entirely delivering what it promises, with too many distracting aromas and not enough of the other aromas that are listed - Omnipollo has done better in this segment, which they basically embody.

Nose is shoggoth with a dash of shoggoth. Taste is sweet, bitter & shoggoth. Mouthfeel is soft, round, creamy & packed full of tentacles & a thousand mouths. Not sure why but I’m pretty sure this recipe was discovered when exploring Antarctica early 1900.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, roasted, liquorice, taste is sweet chocolate, caramel, vanilla, bitter coffee. There's a lot in this but none of the ingredients really come through.

Tap@Rbabarrab, Copenhagen - black pour with tan head. Roasted and sweet with dark malty with chocolate, some caramel and some sweet maple notes, medium to full bodied, slight bitter edge coming in, then a rich chocolate malty finish with vanilla nuances into the close.
