At Winter Beer Fest 2017, Waregem. Shared with Anke!
Hazy dark brown with a big, foamy, tan head. Aroma of earth, hops, nuts, herbs, malt, some dark chocolate, wood, coffee & tea - like walking through a forest in autumn. It tastes medium to heavy hoppy & earthy bitter and only light sweet. Herbal, dry finish. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. It takes some time getting used to this one, but that's worth it.

Bottle from LDW; Eke. Dark brown colour, lots of creamy white foam. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, light caramel notes. Taste is intense bitter coffee, some sourness, light sweet. Light body. Strange Bock, don't know what to think.

Bottle at Modeste 2017. Pours dark brown, clear, almost black. Small to no head. Smell is bit of peppers, coffee charpness. Taste is sharp, very green coffee, leaves. rather high, yet still OK carbo. OK

Thanks! Sampled bottled @ Modeste 2017. Very dark brown tanned head. Nose is interestingly huge roasted coffee grounds leading almost to smoked bacon. Taste is smoke is gone but sweet sugar, bark, liquorice, touch empty upfront but finish you get some of those coffee grounds, lower but quite nice, bark,… Could use a bit more body, leaves, malty. Overall very nice surprise, coffee grounds taste works very well. Neat, didn’t expect liking this one that much.
