Fløien IPA er en India Pale Ale av amerikansk type. Det er et kraftig aromatisk øl med en rik humleduft av sitrus, tropiske frukter og gran, balansert av et markert maltpreg. Navnet stammer fra et av de syv fjellene som omkranser Vestlandets hovedstad. Ølet er upasteurisert og ufiltrert, og bør serveres ved 7-9 grader i egnet glass.

On tap at Gladmat. Golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is fruit, malt, pine, citrus, floral. Flavour is fruit, malt, pine, citrus, floral, orange, caramel. OK beer.

Pours slightly hazy deep golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, citrus, orange and caramel, Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long citrus, grape and caramel finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Fra flaske på M2 Cardinal nov-14: klar gylden med flott hvitt skum som varer. Mye gress, furu/gran og litt grapefrukt i aroma og smak. Litt mer maltkropp hadde gjort balansen bedre. Tørr. Lang ettersmak. Nok en gang hurra for 7 Fjell som via qr-koden på etiketten gir oss tilgang til den detaljerte oppskriften!

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 24.11.14. Small off-white head. Aroma of American hops and citrus juice that has passed through the kidneys of the neighbour’s cat. Better taste, of citrus, dried fruits and succade.

330 ml bottle, ABV is 6.9%. 75 IBU. Batch #18. Malts are pale, münchener, pale crystal and dark crystal. Hops are Cascade, Centennial and Mosaic. Orange to amber clour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Strong aroma of above hops, notes of pine, spruce, citrus and tropcal fruits. Very hoppy flavour, notes of pine needles and spruce tips, also grapefruit. Bitter finish and aftertaste. Medium dry, light bodied for its strength.

Sample at Bergen Ølfestival 2014. Almost clear amber with a white head. Aroma and taste of pineapple, hay, grapefruit and some malt. Not that bitter and with a dryish finish.

Sample on tap at Grünerløkka Mat og mikrobryggfestival. Clear amber with a tan head. Fruity and hoppy aroma with peaches, tropical fruits, notes of citrus and pale malt. Moderate sweet with lovely hoppy and fruity flavours and a balanced bitterness. Delicious IPA!
