Third, cask ale shared with Finn at the brewpub. Coal black body, almost naked at the surface, scattered lacing. Moderate smell of chocolate malts, mildly roasted. Liquorice and dark chocolate to the taste buds, slightly overrun by chili spices to the aftertaste. Accepted. (Birmingham 03.02.2020).

On tap at Gunmakers Arms. Pours dark ruby with beige head. Nose might be giving some hint that chilli is coming. On tongue chilli definitely kicks in. Quite a lot actually. Okay, my taste buds have just died. Cheers buds.

23/8/2019. Cask at the 42nd Peterborough Beer Festival. Pours clear very pale brown with a small off-white head. Aroma has a big hit of aniseed, chocolate and liquorice allsorts. Moderate sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation. Chilli comes through to finish. Not especially keen.
