(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 10 June 2024) Copper colour with frothy, tan head. Malty nose with notes of bread, toast, apricots and earthy hops. Malty taste with bread, some caramel, toast, apricots and a balanced earthy bitterness in the finish. Light body, quite dry. Refreshing and highly drinkable. Nice one.

Another long day babysitting internal audit, but I wasn't needed had next to no meetings and it meant I got stuff done. So a celebratory half of this was in order to start things off. A proper traditional bitter, straight down the line and no messing. Hops and malt all in order. A certain biscuity sweetness was present and correct. And bags of flavour and mouthfeel for a really low abv. A classic example of how good English cask bitter can be.

From cask at The Long Pond, Eltham, London, after doing the 4A and 4B legs of the Green Chain Walk. Chestnut amber. Some off-white head and lacing. Fine aroma and taste of pale malt, grains, dried fruits and meadowy hops. A good bitter. Very quaffable.

Cask ale served in a mug at Fuggles Beer Cafe. Half-pint shared with Finn. Dark reddish-brown body, bubbly head and lacing rings down the glass. Restrained malt-fruity aromas, hints of ripe citrus and caramel malts. The taste profile follows suit with caramel, biscuit, and lemony hops. Short bittersweet tail. Just alright. (Tunbridge Wells 18.10.2019).
