Can from the brewery's Northumberland Beer Box. Sweet berry aroma with coffee hints. Opaque darker brown. Creamy beige head gradually recedes. Medium coffee bitterness before the tangy sour damson bursts through, with a touch of underlying sweetness. Spice into the finish. Medium bodied. Slick, verging on creamy. Slow prickly carbonation. Dry slightly astringent finish. Good stuff.

Half-pint, cask in fine condition at The Heart of Northumberland, Hexham. Shared with Finn. Clear nut brown body. Low beige head, spotty lacing. Inviting smell of dark berry skins and chocolate malts. Dark berry-fruits to the taste buds on a backbone of chocolate malts. Mid-sweet, rounded dark malty ending. Fine depth. Good drinking. Svart. Høyt tett skum med litt farge. Tynn lacing. Utmerket lakrisaroma med hint av mørke plommer. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken balansert. Lakris & fruktsjokolade med hint av rom. Godt dessertøl.
