Nearly clear light amber, white head. Malty aroma, some kind of weird, fruity citrus. Malty flavour, light orange and pine. Has a herbal, slightly rough bitterness to it. Weird.

Bottle. Frothy white fair mostly deminishing head. Yellow colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Orange notes. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate and too fizzy.

Genialnie pachnace piwo, pulpa brzoskwiniowa, morela, lengroda, mirabelki. W smaku podobne owoce, dochodzi jakby imbirowa przyprawowosc, nie wiem skad to bylo. Fajna barwa, choc srednio metne i sredniej piany to ta piana byla bardzo trwala, niemal do konca picia. Zdecydowanie wytrawne i goryczkowe piwo Fajna mroczna i prowokujaca etykieta. I like that!

Tap at Concerthuis. Slight hazy golden with small off white head. Caramel, quite bready, soft honey, cake, rye, bitter herbs, orange, light grassy. Very malty with hops like a good German pils. Over medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with quite some carbonation.

One of the countless White Pony beers, a wheat IPA, bottle from Wijnegemse Drankenhal. Moussy, medium thick, snow white, lightly lacing head leaving some lacing here and there; clear old gold robe with warmer orangey hue and lively fizz. Aroma of moldy orange, lemon zest, peach, banana peel, withering field flowers, powder sugar, sweetbread, jute, white grape, red apple, hay, soap, bitter honey, pineapple slices, yellow plum, white pepper, dried thyme. Fruity onset, vivid but clean, sweetish with hints of pear, pineapple, banana and peach with a sourish gooseberry effect beneath, minerally carbonation, smooth and ’full’ mouthfeel. Cereally malt sweetish backbone with a touch of soapy wheat, but subtly so, carrying the fruitiness to a hop bitter finish with a floral, pepper- and yellow grapefruit-like character, yet not as aromatic as I expect from a strong IPA; a leafy, spicy bitterness is left behind along with a dash of whisky-like alcohol. More a ’Belgian IPA’ - I remain convinced that such a style should exist here - than a true New World white IPA, or otherwise put, an estery and mildly phenolic tripel with an extra dosis of hop bitterness. Seen in that context, however, this is a very decent, enjoyable beer, technically correct and well-balanced between sweet and bitter. Expected a bit more ’oomph’, though, and it is not because you make a Belgian blonde or tripel and throw more hops in it than usual, that you automatically have an IPA... People expecting a lush fragrance and aromatic bitterness, may therefore be a bit disappointed in this - I would recommend to expect a classic Belgian ale rather than an IPA, and seen like that, this is a very enjoyable one.

Hazy yellow colour with thin head. The aroma is very citrusy. Flavour has intense, fresh, zesty citrus, especially grapefruit. Balanced bitterness in the finish.

Bottle shared during the RBScSG2015. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head that leaves a small trace on the glass while quickly dissipating. Smell is fruity and grassy with crackers, white bread, grapefruit juice, mango, pineapple, freshly cut grass, pine needles and lemon zest. Taste is bitter, fruity and grassy. Mouthfeel is dry, astringent, very tiny boozy and medium bodied. Finish is bitter with crackers, grapefruit juice, mango, pineapple, freshly cut grass, pine needles and lemon zest. Nicely dry with a solid hop profile. Quite enjoyable. --- Beer merged from original tick of Atheist - on 11 Jul 2015 at 16:27 - Score: 7
