Hopped with 3 varieties of new world hops, set against a malt backbone of 5 different malts Maris the Otter is a complex modern take on English Bitter. Named in homage to both Maris Otter, the most supreme of brewing grains, which celebrates its 50th birthday in the launch year of Brew York (2016) and the Otter that inhabits the river Foss directly behind the Brew York Craft Brewery.

Cask-conditioned at the Shakespeare, Sheffield 18/1/2017. Amber in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. Solid bitter, with some ripe cereal malts, touch of leafy hops and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Can courtesy of Helen and Geraint, consumed at home Wednesday 22nd February 2017 (another day drinking a beer on a normally non beery day off) Hazy amber in colour with a white sticky head. Pretty decent bitter, I guess from the description it is slightly more modern, however to me seems to be quite traditional, pleasant sessionable, fruity, bitter. A6 A4 T6 P3 4 Ov12 3.1
