Estrella Galicia Especial

Hijos de Rivera in A Coruña, Galicia, Spain 🇪🇸

  Lager - Helles Regular
Score
4.97
ABV: 5.5% IBU: 25 Ticks: 213
Born in 1972 as “Especial Rivera”, it would soon become Company’s most representative beer. Brewed by Hijos de Rivera’s Brewmasters in the only Company’s brewery placed in A Coruña. It takes a whole month to be brewed, half of it inside the maturing tanks. Golden color. Clean and bright. Excellent aromatic balance between malts and hops. Lightly floral and herbal flavors, with a moderate warm mouthfeel, and an intense hoppy bitter taste that lingers in the mouth.

Classical beer to begin a nice night in Madrid, Ciudad Lineal area, on friday, before to go back to Switzerland. Perfect Peruvian restaurant with a good parihuela de mariscos de la puta m... perfect with this lager/pils, industrial but it is acceptable for the mouth, 22.10.23

Sample of my wife's beer. Pretty malty-grainy, decent but indeterminate bitterness, alright for a mass produced lager.

One of the better Spanish lagers. Bought from local supermarket, drank at home in Nerja with lunch.

Bottled. Slightly less nasty than Estrella Damm. But definitely not good. Spain, Italy, and Greece are in the running for worst beer nations.

A pair of 200ml bottles, part of a 6 pack brought back from A Coruna by a friend. A better than average European pale ale. enjoyable.
