First brewed in collaboration with Tim Anderson, beer geek and Master-chef Winner 2012, this beer is a bit of a mouthful. We take a big Citra and Amarillo, dry hopped IPA as a base and ferment it out with a German wheat beer yeast before adding lashings of Japanese Yuzu. Its a kaleidoscope of flavours and it compliments a whole host of South East Asian dishes. The combination of the distinctly sharp yuzu, the punchy citrusy hops and soft wheat beer body is a real winner if you like your beers to bold and full of interesting flavours.

Hazy blond with fluffy head. Aroma and flavour have a lot of citrus. It's also really dry. Not quite right.

Tap at Kaapse Anniversary. Hazy dark orange with off white head. Dry malts, soft dank hops, sweet caramel, light flowers, actually not that much citrus at all, mostly dry citrus peel aromatic oil stuff. Medium sweet and bitter with light tartness. Medium bodied.

Draft sample @ Tilquin English Beerfest 2018.

6 May 2018, at Tilquin English Beer Festival. Deputy Taster: Anke.
Hazy light amber with a small, frothy, off-white head; little lacing. Aroma of sour tangerine, lime, grapefruit, citrus, wheat, yeast, orange. It tastes light to medium citric sour, bit wheaty, and light to medium hoppy bitter, hint of yeast; fruity back. Dry, hoppy, bitter finish, not straightforward 'grapefruit-like', bit tart, orangey, bready and limelike. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy to lively carbonation. Interesting IPA, nothing to remark really.

Pretty cloudy orange to amber beer, creamy white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: nice stuff going on here, some tropical fruits, bit smoky, yeasty, some banana, malts. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: very bitter, malts, bit metallic. Aftertaste: bit sourish, very bitter, bit resinous, orange peel. Where did all that fruit go??

Keg @ Vocation & Co, Hebden Bridge. Mildly hazed golden ale with a thin head. It's a carbonated, citrus heavy ale with a very tasty tropical fruitiness. It has a mid citric bitterness.

Bottle at Nanban, Brixton. Cloudy orange, with a bit of white head. Candy sugar and tangerine peel aroma. Bittersweet taste, with a fruit juice sour competing with the national bitterness of hop. Jarring finish. Not sure this goes as well with food as it competes with flavour. Having said this, it's a decent enough IPA in its own right and worth a try.
