A further partnership arose from a fight with a large national brewery to retain the right to use our name. We were flattered that they thought our name was so good that they wanted it for themselves, but it was compliment we could have done without! Having said that, in a great example of karmic justice and to celebrate the successful resolution of the dispute, we brewed a collaboration beer with the solicitors who had supported us through the process, Irwin Mitchell.
After a visit to their offices in Leeds where we decided on the style they would like to make, ABV and flavours, the team from Irwin Mitchell came to the brewery and did the heavy lifting for the day. The brew day was a great success, everyone had a good time.
The majority of the first two batches went to bottling so unusually you will probably see this beer on shelves before you see it in pubs.
The first launch event was at the Anglers Rest in Bamford was fantastic, so much so the next brew day had to be moved to the following week to give us time to recover.
Far punchier and bold than you would expect from a 4.5% beer this IPA is certainly going to go down well with people looking for a beer with bags of flavour.

Cask ale at Lion and Key. Remaining beige head to a clear amber coloured body. Solid lacework. Bread and herbal hops on the nose. Grainy malts, pine and dried fruity flavours. Bitter endnotes. Well bodied. Pretty nice (shared with Finn, Hull 25.11.2015).
