31.03.2014, 0,33l bottle @ Piccadilly, Bodø:
No head, very hazy. Aroma is slightly fresh fruity, wheat, coriander, yeast, hay, bubblegum, citrus peel, banana. Taste is slightly sweet and spiced, yeast, light malts, hay, orange peel, coriander, weeds, grass, bubblegum, flowers. Medium bitterness, slightly yeasty mouthfeel, almost no carbonation. Nice enough. A little too yeasty, and no carbonation, is basically what’s keeping this from being a really nice wit.

330ml bottle by the courtesy of Eirik, kindly brought to Tromsø by Kjell. A typical wheat haze to a yellow-gold coloured body. Fair white head, spotty lacework. Semi-dry smell with grass, wheat and notes of citrus. The flavour is quite dry with citrus and coriander spices joined by hints of yeasty fruitiness. A little tartness at the ending keeps the sweetness at bay. Mild and refreshing. Fine version of the style (shared with Finn, Tromsø 06.02.2014).

Bottle. Pours a very hazy light brown colour with a small, off-white head. The beer looks like unfiltered apple juice. The aroma is fresh and spicy and in addition touch of citrus, Belgian yeast and hay. Without doubt a solid Belgian touch to the aroma with a good dose of fruitiness (apple?). The taste is almost surprisingly fresh with a grassy hop flavour in the background, and with a nice peppery finish. Mouth feel is almost silky, and the beer has a light bitterness. Mjelle is a nice ale for the summertime with its freshness, fine balance and easy-drinking. In addition it will be a great beer to light dishes.
