33 cl bottle @ Nurmo. Rated on 25.12.2010
Aroma has some roastiness and bready malt. Flavour has some herbs, bready malt, chocolate and hints of metal. This tries to be something christmasy as well as easy‐going for the masses. And fails at both.

(Draught at Stones, 20111214) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, liquorice and metallicness. Palate was medium bodied and a bit sticky with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, roasted malts, metallicness and bitterness. Afteraste was malty and bitter. Eventually left unpleasant aftertaste.

Thanks to Finn for a 330ml bottle of this. Deep, russet coloured body, tiny beige head. Mild aroma of earthy malts with hints of cinnamon. Taste of earthy, mid-sweet malts along with weak fruity hints and spices. Flat in the mouth. Over par and quite alright (Tromsø, 11.02.2011).

Bottled. Deep rubyish brown colour with mediumsized foamy brown head. Aroma is shitloads of liquorice, mild caramel malts, some burnt sugar, and some toasted and spicy notes. Flavour is liquorice, a bit toasted, slight notes of burnt sugar, mild alcohol and spices. A rather pleasant Xmas seasonal.

Dark brown beer with quite weak and beige head. Aroma is roasted, some vegetables, hint of syrup and honey. Flavour is similar than aroma, roastiness, some sweetness and ryebread, spicies; quite simple taste and not too roasted. Smooth and pleasant to drink, however, quite light. Quite balanced, but uninspirating, vegetables should be hidden better.

Bottled (Alko, BB 05/2011)
Seems that this is totally different recipe than a previous Talvi IV. Dark clear amber-copper color, small off-white head. Aroma of anice and barley grains. Quite light bodied for this ABV. Flavor has also barley grains, anice, licorice and caraway. Also some dark malts with light roasty notes. Some hoppyness with oily mouthfeel in the finish. This winter beer is quite Christmasy and has some Het Anker fingerprints :) But his is a lager, these flavors work much better in more fruity ale.
