Draught, house Christmas beer, 6.8% ABV, at Carlsens Kvarter where it really was chilled down a bit too far. Clear and deep mahogany coloured body. Bare naked surface, fragile lacing. Plain dark malty smell. Dark caramel malts along with a modest touch of candy sweetness. Typical for the style and partly enjoyable (Odense, 10.11.2010).

Handbottle thanks to faeroeviking/Christian. Pours slight murky brown (my pour did) with a mild redish glare. Almost no head. Sweet aroma, slight unfinished molasses and some strange earthy note. Flavour follows this closely with mild fruity notes but it is sticking sweet and some strange earthy flavour in addition. Sweet finish.

(Hand bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of faroeviking/ChristianScheffel. Pours a dark brown with a tint of red. Tiny, tiny off-white head - probably due to the low carbonation from the handbottling. Aroma of sweet, roasted malt - but unfortunately also a fusty touch. Medium body with sweet, roasted malts and some notes of brown sugar. And again an earthy, moldy feel. The finish is mainly sweet, with only a vague hint of hops. Afraid this wasn’t completely clean. 301107

Dark brown with a lasting off-white head. Caramel, brown sugar and molasses dominate the aroma. Very sweet malty flavour with some molasses.
