This light beer is hopped using very unique American hops such as Amarillo and Simcoe. These atypical hops deliver aromas of hot and tropical fruits such as mango and passion fruit.

Bottle at The Cad’s 10 yr Shindig. Thanks to Ian. It pours lightly hazy amber with a small white. The nose is earthy, toasty, grainy, mild citrus and brown bread. The nose is bitter, toasty, grainy, dough, cereal, spice, faint citrus and straw with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Quite malt-driven and not much hop presence. OK at best.

Bottle in Toulouse. A little bit of false advertising since, it’s not in fact a Black IPA. It’s a regular IPA. Pours a clear, burnt orange with some lacing white head. Nose has orange peel, some pine needles, a little lemon zest, some malt, a hint of candy, a little soap. Flavor is solid, bitter, sweet, orange, tangerine, honey, mild caramel, malt. Bitter finish.

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais. Hazy cloudy amber with lasting thick beige head. Woody sherbert hop aroma. Strong pippy yellow grapefruit aroma. Love the hops. Some malt, could do with a little bit more backbone. I mean this could easily be a 6% proper American IPA. It’s a good pale ale. Could be even better with just a little bit more balls.

Orange coloured with a lacy, soapy head. Strange vegetable aroma. Initially quite a malty flavour then somewhat metallic. Has a generic, non-distinct bitterness.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein leicht trübes bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit ordentlicher stabilen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, hopfig, fruchtig, Aprikose. Geschmack leicht fruchtig, malzig, hopfig, blumig, etwas würzig.
