A slightly reddish Christmas beer with a larger malt profile, a lager beer, to meet the powerful food that Christmas traditionally brings with it.

330ml bottle bought at Kjeller 5. Dense, off-white, two-finger sized head to a crystal clear golden-brown body. Modest smell of caramel and earth. Watered caramel malty flavours, hints of wort. Grainy bitter endnotes. Drinkable, but not more (Tromsø 31.12.2015).

Bottle. A clear, dark amber colored beer with a small, light beige colored head. The aroma is mostly on the caramel side, with a sourish mash touch and some grass and pine cone hints. It’s quite bitter on the palate, dry and medium bodied with a bit hard carbonation. Lots of caramel in the flavor, with a harsh bitterness, some pine cones, grass and leaves. Long finish. Well, it’s certainly not my kind of Christmas beer. In fact, it’s not my kind of beer at all. It’s drinkable indeed, but it needs some preferably solid food to mask some of the flavor. 151129
