Courtesy of ditmier. Pours clear deep copper with light tan head. The aroma has a touch of pine hops to go along with crystal malts, some mild amounts of nuttiness and floral hops. The taste begins floral, pine and biscuit. It gets a tad roasty by midway with a dash of graininess. Into the finish a note of nuttiness blends into the remaining lingering flavors to create a tasty and balanced finish. Nice malt forward pale ale.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 26 Sep 2009) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with orange and grapefruit. Fruity, malty taste with notes of orange peel, apricots and fresh, citrussy hops in the finish. Medium body with a crisp malt profile. Balanced sweetness. Well balanced, nice and tasty.

Hazy copper pour, with a soapy, sudsy lace - quite a tasty and assertive APA - fairly crisp, dry and bitter up front - this is followed by a malt character more in line with british pales than american ones - dry, biscuity malts, slight earthiness, a hint of diacetyl/buttery flavor - actually, aside from the fresher hop character, I would classify this as a british pale - not a bad one, though.

Draught at Deschutes Brewery and Public House in Portland. Aroma of lemon-orange, honey, passion fruit, jasmine. Cloudy, hazy dark copper color. Rather sweet flavor, very fruity: passion fruit and other tropical flavors. Piney hops with medium bitterness at the finish. Good, unique pale ale.

Slim 355ml bottle bought at Bières Sans Frontières, GBBF 09 for consumption on my hotel room before the Jack Bruce consert. Clear, amber-orange pour. Tiny head, but nice laceworks on the glass. A standard American Pale Ale with a decent fruit hoppy nose and a taste profile of dried fruits and malty sweetness. Fine bitter support to the finish (Earls Court, London 05.08.2009).

On tap at the Ol Factory in Monterrey. Pours a slightly hazy otherwise transparent copper amber with a frothy slightly off white head. Aroma is solid for an APA, grassy, lemons, slightly metallic. Flavor is heavy on the cascade hops, you can tell right away it’s Cascade, dry caramel malts, crackers, grainy bread. Dry finish that’s only slightly bitter. Pretty good.

On tap at Flying Saucer Austin. Has a clear amber with a small frothy off white head with good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a raisin malt with caramel and honey. Thin mouthfeel with a light malt taste and a nice bitter finish. A good american pale ale from Deschutes.

Light amber coloured body with a nice tannish head. Aroma of hops, malt and a bit of nuts, good balance. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive hops up front with a good malt backbone. Aftertaste hoppy showing a mild alcohol kick near the end. Overall, a good APA throughout - definitely worth sampling! I sampled this beer on draught from Henry’s 12th St Tavern in Portland, Oregon on 09-September-2006.
