2011-03-08, draught at Bier Craft, Vancouver, 7-4-7-4-14=36
Blond color. The aroma is a bit fruity and resiny. Dry but pleasant toffee and malt flavor; strong bitterness, with some good hop quality. Good.

2010-03-26, draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, 7-4-7-4-15=37
Hazy amber color. Nice hop-fruity aroma, apricots. Reasonable toffee flavor, drier in the finish; good bitterness, quite aromatic, more fruity than resiny. Pleasant and well drinkable.

2007-09-22, bottle at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007, 7-3-7-3-14=34
Cloudy amber color. Nice sweet hoppy aroma, resiny and fruity. There is some sweet toffeish flavor, but a bit dry mouthfeel. At least there is a good hopping, strong and a bit resiny and fruity (apricots). Pleasant.

12 oz Bottle - room service Silver Cloud Hotel in Seattle on 8/13/07. Pour is clear golden orange with a normal white head. Aroma is citrus hops, some malt and a slight metallic odor. Taste is a blend between hop and malt. Again, the metallic appeared, this time as an aftertaste. This one was just so so, I was hoping for a bit more. Best by 10/27/07.

WBF-Raleigh. Clear amber body with a medium creamy white head. Sweet caramel aroma with some light citrus hops. Dry caramel and citrus hops flavor.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a clear, amber golden with an off-white head leaving laces. Aroma of malt and a vaguely citric touch. Medium body with fairly sweet malt and a very subdued bitterness. Very smooth mouthfeel. An accessible APA with more focus on malt rather than hops. 230307

Draught at Red Robin. Amber with small white head and some lacing. Smell of hops, fresh grass and spice. Taste of malt, balanced with hops. Lekker finish that has a hoppish slurp.

Off-white head is expansive, rocky and shows moderate retention, sticky lacing. Brass-gold body is mostly clear. Light bubbles rise in distinct streams.
Sourdough/toasty malt is twangy/sharp in the nose, what you’d expect from a sweet-and-sour flavor with some astringency. Hops are highly bitter, mostly white grapefruit and light pine. Strong nose, but it’s very monotonous, and no lively fruitiness, tropical or otherwise comes forth. Not that I’m expecting some deeply aromatic DIPA nose out of this, but it just seems very heavy on the IBUS and not so much on the pure aromatics. Some light metallic notes are notable as well, on the finish, with doughty, lightly aspirin-like yeast. Light vanilla cream base malts eventually pass the crystal/medium malts, but both of these, in consequence, take away from the hop presence (though in this case that’s a good thing, I think).
Staunchly bitter, somewhat soggy, stale hop notes crowd the palate immediately, adding acids and overwhelming the palate. Sourdough/bready yeastiness further harries the palate and the finish is just a mess of bitterness and astringency. Very dry orange marmalade, lemons, white grapefruits. Things that only the hophead who cares little for balance, is going to appreciate. Moderate carbonation, slightly loose, with touches of wateriness. Some pale malt sweetness lingers on the finish, almost syrupy-like. Taken with the heavy hop bitterness, it’s most unpleasant to me. That said, at least they overdo the beer instead of underdoing it (they are at least giving you more for your money....).

Bottle. Amber beer with a thin off-white head. Citrus and slight caramel aroma. Orange citrus flavor with decent pale ale bitterness. Very drinkable - refreshing. Flavors fade fairly quickly. Nothing real bad, but nothing to make it stand out.

Hazy amber with a small beige head. Hoppy citrus aroma; flavor hoppy with a bitter finish. Carbonated mouthfeel.

12 oz. Bottle pours out a orange-amber color. with a white head. Nothing that great. It is a little to pale ale for me.

Draft: Orange and copper pour with lots of white head and nice lacing. Nose of citrus hops and sweetness. Taste is a citrus and floral hop medley with some sweet malt and fruitiness. Nice dry finish. Steadily turning into one of my favorite locally (region) brewed ales.
