Bottle. A- Citrus, hops. A- Burnt orange color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Bitter, citrus, grapefruit, piney. P- Medium body, crisp texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- A standard pale ale. Balanced well and the bitterness is at the forefront but the citrus, especially the grapefruit mellow it out nicely. Not a huge fan of APA’s but this is a good one.

Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #3. As of this moment the third most rated beer I have not yet rated. Thought I had but somehow I missed it. Luckily I’m vacationing in Kentucky and they distribute here! 12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Lexington. Pours a slightly hazy amber-copper color with a large foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of herbal, resin hops and crackery and caramel malt notes. The taste is pale malts, a bit of a buttery note, and a fresh citrus hop finish. Medium bodied, refreshing. Solid.

Reviewed from notes. Consumed 10/18/13.
The appearance has a golden orange colored body with a one and a half finger white foamy head, ringy foamy lacing graces the sides of the glass, spider webs a bit.
The smell is floral yet bready, some caramel comes through.
The taste is pretty the same as the smell, bready yet somewhat floral aftertaste, and has no finish.
The palate is about light to medium, somewhat sessionable. Carbonation is pretty smooth for the style and is pretty good to me.
Overall, it is a nice flavorful and satisfying APA that has a good drinkability worthy to consume with its respected food. I’d have this one again.
