Smell of smoke, vanilla. Black colour, brown head. Aroma of smoke, peat, vanilla. Bitter. Soft plentiful carbon. Smoke fits well in Siperia.

Draught @ Oluthuone Panimomestari
Aroma has smoke and ash. Also pot coffee. Flavour has smoke, tar, ash, pot coffee. Finishes with some salty licorice. The smoke makes this somewhat different from the original SIPERIA. However, after some sips the familiar IBUs come through. The original is slightly better; the hops and smoke altogether leave this a bit messy. This could be better with less hops. Could not locate the oak. Finally a Suomi100 product that does not suck.

200ml draught at Stone's. Pitch black body, scattered lacing from a low, fawn-coloured head. Inviting peaty nose, mid-dry. Rich taste of oak, peat and a backdrop of dark fruits. Lingering aftertaste and mouth filling. Fine depth. A well crafted celebration beer. (Helsinki 29.11.2017).

Tap at Kaisla. Opaque black colour, small beige head. Aroma has strong smoke and tar. Full-bodied. Roasted malty, smoked, tarry (Tervaleijona candy). Nicely in the balance. Not as hoppy roasted than the original but has more layers.

Draught @ Kaisla. Poured near black with a thin brown head. Mild smoky, almost peaty nose, roastedness. Flavor has smoke, malts, peat, hops and tobacco. Eat finish, malty, heavy finish. I prefer the normal version but this is pretty nice as well. Complex.

Draught @ Kaisla, Helsinki. Pours pitch black with a sticky brown head. Aroma has loads of smoke, roasty malts, herbal hops, grass, citrus, whisky, oak, wood and toffee. Taste is roasty, woody and hoppy with loads of smoked malts, some herbal notes, grass, pine, oak, coffee, chocolate and licorice. Finish is lingering bitter, massively hoppy, herbal and citrusy with loads of smoke, licorice, roastiness, wood and hints of oak and vanilla. Quite a lot of smokiness here, an interesting take on one of my all time favorite beers. Not quite as perfect as the original, but still really good. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Siperia Suomi 100 Juhlapainos on 04 Nov 2017 at 18:32 - Score: 8. Tap at Kaisla, Helsinki. Color is almost black with small brownish head. Aromas and flavors: Some citric fruits, grassy hops, some smoke, some tar, vanilla, bread, dryness, wood, some licorice and roasted malts. Excellent. Great fresh malty backbone with nice drinkability. Tasty and complex. Very interesting combination of black ipa and smoked beers.

(Keg at Kaisla, 20171103) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had smoke, pine and wood. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were pine, vanilla, smoke, burnt malts, liquorice and bitterness. Aftertaste had vanilla, burnt malts, liquorice and bitterness. A very pleasant version of an excellent brew.
