Poured from the 32oz can my friend had. Pours with a small, fizzy, white head that fizzles away quickly. Pale yellow color that looks just like the stale sweet corn aroma smells. Corn and stale cereal in the taste, sugar too. Pretty fizzy.

True class right here! Actually not that bad but all in all very similar to other pale american lagers. I like a high life here and there

Canned(355ml). -Pale yellow coloured, small airy (almost no) white head, fizzy. The taste is completely corn, sweet corn, soapy corn, syrupy corn and of course corn in the finish.

pours a very light golden color and has a very light head. has an overbearing taste of corn like other cheap pale lagers but is one of the better cheap beers.

Ewww! It’s cloudy with no justifably good reason. It has a very strange flavor which is unpleasant. If ever a beer tasted like piss it’s the High Life. I’d rather drink the Beast.

Bottle: Clear yellow with white head. Skunk piss comes to mind when smelling this gawd aweful beer. Taste was a sweet grain.

Gimmee a break, it was bowl season. As if that’s a decent excuse. Not much in this one. Yellow, grain, and light sour. Unpleasant. Next time I will have a Pepsi.

So my dad-in-law loves this stuff. I confess, it is the champagne of beers, but still it lacks some basic quality. It is watery, corn flavored alcohol that is a good thirst quencher on a really warm day. Other than that, it is not that great. I will take this over a Budweiser, but it’s splitting hairs at that point.

I’d like to learn more about how the phrase ‘high life’ come to be used. This one was a twelve ounce clear bottle with a twist off cap. I’ve grown to become fond of these long neck bottles, it’s becoming with those neat labels and the proud. proclamation of “The champagne of beers.” The picture in this avatar is missing the pleasing woman in the red dress and hat mounted in the center of the X! These bottle types allow for a great pour. So you are mumbling ‘This can’t be the first time he’s tasted it?” No it is not….. I’ve had this countless times before I became an amateur ratebeerian. First, I wanted to get some experience with about 200 ‘good’ beers and really give this brew equal footing before I BMC step on it. So, this is neither a number padder nor a memory rate. This beer is being sampled as I review. Pours like any other good pale yellow beer I’ve poured in my former stooges and present steeler stein. Barely any visual carbonation but there is a spot where a bubble or two rises randomly. Aroma of a clean dishrag with yeast in the background, nothing much different than other good pale lagers. I have many good experiences with this brew but I’ll try not to let that bias my rating. Nice tingly carbonation on the initial flavor sample. No offensive bitter hops in there. Does not have any displeasing tones and can be considered a clean tasting beer. Easy to drink - like a refreshing tonic. Finish is tingly as it rolls off the back of your tongue and there is a very , very slight hint of malt or bitter hops on the end, but it does not linger. Hey, this may have been your grandfathers beer but it’s still worth checking into if you haven’t sampled it lately. Better than Henninger but not quite as sophisticated as Carlsburg.

A nice smooth drinkable cheap beer. My first experience with this beer was right alongside Budweiser. It was amazing how much more drinkable and flavourful this beer was. Not complex, but nice and simple.
