Sample @ MBCC 2019, yellow session. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are nuts, caramel, roast malt, hops and has a nice roqsty caramel finish.

MBCC. Black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, coffee and maple syrup. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish. Oily. 100519

Bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a black with a finger of brown head that dissipates to a ring and lingers. Big coffee and roasted malt aromas with cacao nib, date, vanilla and maple as it warms. Balanced and abv hidden fairly well. Roasted malt and more espresso and cacao nib notes. Maple comes out more as it warms. Roasted cacao and maple on the finish. Some oaky vanilla, but slightly bitter.

Draft at the brewery. An opaque blackish void of a body, topped with a thick tight tan head. Aroma of hazelnut, coffee, and maple. Sharp mouthfeel with prickly alcohol heat, the flavor mostly coffee and maple, dominating the base beer and obscuring discernment. Good, not great.
